#AIArtNotHumanWar Campaign receives an Honorary Webby Award

As the war in Ukraine drags on and on, it is slowly leaving people’s minds. There is even a medical term for it - compassion fatigue. That is not to say that people don’t care anymore, it is just that it is becoming the new normal and things like increasing energy prices and inflation that are closer and more imminent are taking center stage.At Truhoma, we have been monitoring this situation closely and saw through our and other projects that this unfortunately is visibly affecting the number of donations. On the other hand, as the war is prolonging, the number of Ukrainians that need help is increasing rapidly.That is why we decided to open another international project for Ukraine where we will try to gather enough funds for 200 aid packages for Ukrainian civilians. We do not only see this project as a source of immediate help, but also as a demonstration that will show larger foreign companies that help can still be delivered transparently and directly to people that need it. Ukraine needs your help more than ever

<h1>Truhoma and Binance Charity together for Ukraine</h1>After our successful project Truhoma for Ukraine during which we collected 20,000 EUR to buy 500 food packages in a few days and delivered them to the Kyiv warzone in just a few weeks, our work and efforts were noticed abroad as well. Binance Charity donated 40,000 EUR for 1000 food packages through our platform. With the help of our partners Davidov hram, Sadje v pisarni and our diligent volunteers it only took us a few days to collect and pack all groceries into boxes, load them on a truck on 7th April and started them on a 1,600 kilometer journey to Kyiv. Roads to the Ukrainian capital are in bad shape, so our driver Myhajlo had to drive slowly. He could not complete the journey in one day and since travel at night is not allowed due to the curfew, he spent the night in Radyvyliv.Tuesday, 12th April - aid packages arrive to Kyiv After a long drive on destroyed roads, packages arrived to Kyiv on Tuesday, 12th April. Truhoma and Binance Charity together for Ukraine

Let’s help UkraineOn February 24, Russia invaded Ukraine, forcing its people to flee. Millions of Ukrainians are caught in the middle of an armed conflict, exposed to danger, hunger and freezing temperatures. They have been forced to leave their homes and resettle across the country and beyond. Women, children, and the few men who were allowed to leave the country became refugees overnight. As the crisis unfolds and people around the world watch the war escalate at this very moment, many of us are wondering how to help. A financial or material donation may seem like a drop in the bucket, but it is certainly an important start and, above all, a better way of dealing with the situation than constantly refreshing increasingly unsettling online timelines.What counts at this moment is the immediate responsiveness to act and help your fellow human beings. Every contribution is welcome.<img src="https://media-staging.truhoma.org/cms/Truhoma_Ukraine-1024x1024-1650015404323-c7a6e08eeb0e7939e73b12a43b0f091e.jpeg" width="418" height="418">First international project in support of UkraineTruhoma has launched its first international project in support of Ukraine to help Ukrainian families who have been left without the basic necessities in a matter of days. We are raising funds for food packages (that include rice, different canned goods, candy, pates, pasta, soups, chocolate, flour, baking powder and coffee) worth €40 that will go to those in need. Our partners Davidov hram and Sadje v pisarni have provided us with a 20% discount on the purchase of products so that the packages are really as full as possible. The boxes have been provided free of charge by DS Smith, the marketing agency Pristop is helping us with the overall communication and the translating agency STAR is helping with translation. Donations on the Truhoma platform can be made by bank transfer, credit card or crypto payment (Binance, Bitcoin.com and Elly wallet @GoCrypto).And this time too, we will deliver on our commitment to 100% transparency. At the end of the project, when we have raised the funds for all packages, an official will collect them at Davidov hram.<img src="https://media-staging.truhoma.org/cms/DSC_5532-1024x682-1650015405850-a909f46da7c2658c435c9b0814adb3ee.jpeg" width="1024" height="682">We have been in contact with officials from the Ukrainian Embassy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and local humanitarian organizations who told us that Kyiv urgently needs food due to these unfortunate and horrible events. Together, we decided that all food packages funded on Truhoma will go directly to Kyiv. We will make the delivery with the help of our partners who will deliver the aid packages to Kyiv and hand them over to officials who will make sure the food gets into the right hands. An official will certify the receipt of all packages at the collection point and provide photos of the delivery.Traceability of donations without known recipientsDue to the specific nature of the project, which this time is collecting donations for people who did not sign up for the project themselves, we will record all recipients with the same data on the blockchain, as we do not know the real final recipients. The donations will be evaluated by humanitarian officials in Ukraine, who will make an expert judgement as to where the donations will go. We believe they will reach the people who need food the most.IMPORTANT UPDATE: We collected enough donations for 500 packages that we will deliver to Ukrainian people in less than 14 days. A huge thank you to all the individuals and companies for showing such compassion in this dire times!!!Transportation of Truhoma’s 500 food packages from Ljubljana to Kyiv was a true odysseyIn Ljubljana, 500 food packages funded through Truhoma were loaded to a truck in Ljubljana.<img src="https://media-staging.truhoma.org/cms/IMG_2650-771x1024-1650015407536-461f7d587d2f39d21fdc05880ef6501b.jpg" width="771" height="1024">Its journey to the Ukrainian border started the next day. On Wednesday evening (March 23rd) the truck arrived to Uzhgorod at the Ukrainian border. The next day packages were moved to a warehouse where they were supposed to be re-loaded to another truck and driven to Kyiv. However, due to the curfew (during which driving is forbidden) in Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities, it was decided to transport the entire donation via train, which is allowed to be driven during the night. With the help of many volunteers, 1/3 of the food packages were put on a train to Kyiv on Friday, 1/3 on Saturday and 1/3 on Sunday. Volunteers transported the packages from the train station to the Volonterska Sotnya charity in Kyiv in three different stages. They were immediately donated to the Ukrainian people, who were very, very happy. Svitlana Dobrohanksa from the abovementioned charity wrote us a message: “Lots of thanks for what you have sent – packages also included chocolates, nuts and cookies. What’s more, everything was packed for separate families. It is really what we need. In such stress, food is very much needed and sweet things are also important, thank you.”During transportation we were in constant touch with Natalya Markevych (<a href="https://www.facebook.com/UKRinSLO" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Embassy of Ukraine in Slovenia</a>) and with Svitlana Dobrohanksa and her daughter Anna Dobrohanksa (<a href="https://www.facebook.com/Volonterska.Sotnya" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Volonterska Sotnya charity in Kyiv</a>) so that we always had the latest updates on the transportation status.We would like to personally thank Svitlana Dobrohanksa, her daughter Anna Dobrohanksa, all the volunteers, and Natalya Markevych for delivering the 500 Truhoma food packages safely to the charity. It makes us and all our donors extremely happy that we could provide a little help to the inspiring Ukrainian people.They were also kind enough to provide us with some delivery photos and signed documents proving that packages got into the right hands. Truhoma for Ukraine

When you find yourself in financial hardship, it is hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel, but there is one. This includes emergency social assistance for which you can apply via the Slovenian eGovernment website. It can also be provided by different charity organizations.In our blog , we have already covered some of the different options you have when you find yourself in financial hardship. Emergency social assistance is one of them. For the sake of clarity, we have divided it into two types: emergency financial assistance for which Slovenian citizens can apply via the Slovenian eGovernment website <a href="https://e-uprava.gov.si/podrocja/vloge/vloga.html?id=4045" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">e-uprava.si</a> and assistance received in the form of help packages from charity organizations.What is emergency financial assistance?Emergency financial assistance is intended for individuals and families who find themselves in a state of material deprivation for reasons beyond their control as well as individuals and families who face unforeseen or extraordinary expenses associated with meeting their basic needs, which their income is unable to cover.In more practical terms: if you lost your job overnight or if your income was cut because of the pandemic, your refrigerator stops working or you do not have enough money to pay for heating, power or gas, you can apply for emergency financial assistance.Who is entitled to emergency financial assistance?You can apply for emergency financial assistance if you are a Slovenian citizen with a registered permanent residence in Slovenia, or a foreign national with a permanent residence permit residing in Slovenia, and if:<ul><li>you do not have enough money to meet your basic needs,</li><li>you do not have assets enabling you to meet your basic needs,</li><li>you are unable to work,</li><li>you need help from another person,</li><li>you experienced or are experiencing an emergency, such as a fire, the pandemic, etc.</li></ul>Of course, there are certain limitations as to the amount of emergency financial assistance you can receive, which is calculated based on your income, the number of family members, your savings and assets (apartment/house, car, etc.) and whether the emergency arose for reasons attributable to you (failing to register with the Employment Service of Slovenia, serving a prison sentence, etc.).&nbsp;How is the amount of emergency financial assistance determined?Emergency financial assistance cannot exceed the minimum monthly income of a single person or a family on a monthly basis, or a sum of five minimum monthly incomes within a calendar year. Ljubljana, 25 November – Today, Ana Lukner Roljić, entrepreneur and founder of Truhoma and Ana’s little star presented her lifelong project, a global philanthropic platform Truhoma, with which she aims to modernize and improve philanthropy activities, in Anna’s little star warehouse in BTC in Ljubljana together with her team and partners.



“I often feel bad when I look at the world today. The gap between those that have and those that do not is just too wide. There are too many hungry children and people that are barely getting by. As even harder times are coming, we can observe people’s struggles from the front lines and it really makes me feel sad. This thought is all the more burdensome as this is happening all around us and as I know there is enough in the world for everyone to live decently,” Ana Lukner Roljić, who started helping people 12 years ago with Ana’s little star, but always knew that it wasn’t the ultimate solution, told the attendees of the event where she presented her lifelong project Truhoma



Entrepreneur and founder of <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J0tRwtLTYDU">Truhoma and Ana’s little star</a> believes that“solution is an even bigger, more revolutionary global change”. She merged latest technologies and philanthropy to create Truhoma, an innovative platform intended to update and improve philanthropy in Slovenia and all around the world. “I first came across blockchain technology at the end of 2015 and quickly realized how important it is for the future. In my case, it presented a tool to fix many issues in philanthropy. I started to develop the idea and put together a team consisting of more than 25 people and partners. We started developing the first version of Truhoma almost two years ago. Our headquarters are in San Jose, California, and our first local entity that came to life today is in Slovenia. Concurrently, we are developing our first version in the USA, where launch is planned for the first quarter of 2022.”

Peter Poles was one of the first people to join Truhoma and became its ambassador. “I believe that most people wish fellow men well and that we are all bothered by injustice and inequality and are above all sad by the indifference of some that makes lives of other harder and worse. That is why I see charity as a necessary intervention of individuals that care and have the means to spread change,” said Poles who similarly to Ana sees the solution for many of the modern world’s complications and indifferences in digital transparency and trusts in her global story: ”Lately, we have been bombarded with more or less fake information from all sides. We find it hard to believe anything and have become careful in our decisions and actions. There are many more or less true stories about charity organizations as well. In our conversation with Ana Lukner Roljić, entrepreneur and founder of Truhoma and the Ana’s Little Star charity, we touched on the recent problems that have tarnished the reputation of charities and Ana’s vision of the future of such organizations.Introduction: Ana Lukner Roljić is the founder of Truhoma. Thanks to more than a decade of experience in the global fields of philanthropy and technological development, she is well-acquainted with the situation from the perspectives of donors, help recipients and charity operation. In her work on Ana’s Little Star charity projects, she has often encountered warranted mistrust towards charities and personally learned the dark sides of the processes whose essence should be to help those in need. With a desire to modernize and improve the functioning of philanthropy in Slovenia and globally, she has created a platform that could forever transform the charity space as we know it. The world-famous philanthropist has identified the key ethical standards that should be fundamental to everyone, including charities.The reputation of charities has been severely tarnished due to scandals. How often do you encounter mistrust because of this?Too often, I’m sorry to say, in Slovenia and internationally. I have been met with distrust personally and through the work of Ana’s Little Star, as have my family, friends and acquaintances from Slovenia, America and elsewhere. The aim of charities is to help those in need. This should be their only mission, so there shouldn’t be any abuse, ever. Of course, there are charities that do their jobs remarkably well, but unfortunately, it is not so in all cases although it should be. I can say that charity has largely become a big business worldwide, simply due to not being transparent. All too often, it is not entirely clear where the donated money went, how it was spent. Was it really spent on the purpose for which it was collected? Furthermore, untransparent high costs are used by charities to justify reallocating part of the donated money for other purposes. That means in some cases charity is obscuring other businesses and glamorous events with different participants that are hiding behind the fact that charity is sacred and that people do not have doubts about it. Charity has lost its essence and thus a lot of trust; it is in need of change so that its original purpose can be restored.Do you think mistrust is the main reason why people refuse to help? Or are there bigger obstacles elsewhere?Mistrust, in Slovenia and elsewhere, is certainly the main reason, but people still help although they are mistrustful. The saddest thing is that we as donors have accepted the fact that we often do not know exactly where and to whom our donation goes, how it is spent, what portion of it is used and how effective it is. We realize that we don’t exactly know what happens with our donation, but come to terms with it because there has simply been no other way. And so, we dismiss this big concern.Unfortunately, help is also taken advantage of quite often; as a result, the donation does not get to those who truly need it. This, too, creates mistrust on the part of donors. Ana’s Little Star in Slovenia has strongly felt this kind of abuse. Detailed verification of those applying for assistance is very important. Based on our experience gained over the 12 years of Ana’s Little Star, we have come to the conclusion that it is best to build our own recipient database of those. Only in this way can we be truly credible, as much as we can possibly be. Unfortunately, the current (state) system does not enable this well enough; it has been stagnant for a long time, which I have been pointing out publicly for years, but to no avail. Identification of those who truly need help is key. In Slovenia, the organizations and institutions at a state administration level (social work centers, the Employment Service of Slovenia, the ministry, etc.) are far too insufficiently connected, so we do not have good enough foundations to build on.What is the easiest way for donors to recognize if a charity is trustworthy?If one always knows where and to whom one’s donation goes, how it is spent, what percentage of the donation is used and how effective it is, then one can trust it. A charity organization must be 100% transparent. Something isn’t right if this is not the case. The easiest and nicest thing is to help an individual or family in need directly. This is also one of Truhoma’s goals – to decentralize the existing world of charity.What mistakes of modern philanthropy have set you out on a mission to revolutionize it?The fact is that philanthropy as a whole is just not transparent and trustworthy. The paths between donors and recipients should be completely clear and straightforward. Philanthropy should be an expresson of the highest humanitarian ethical and moral standards and values. It should provide an example for everyone to follow. I am always motivated by creating novelties that will be for the good of people. I also believe that the current charity organization model has worked (both well and not so well), but will not be able to survive for very long. This is because it’s simply time to replace it and because there are opportunities and new technologies today that allow transparency as well as other approaches, views and values. Giant changes are needed – a full transformation of philanthropy, an empowerment of both donors and donees, and a redefinition of the optimal roles of charities. I must also mention that my compassion, empathy, and a wish to help fellow human beings were instilled in me very early on as my parents brought me up that way. I have always had a vision to help people and change the world for the better.Can charities be more effective than helping in person?I believe that it is always best to help in person, directly, without an intermediary. However, this is very difficult if you want to help on a large scale; furthermore, most recipients do not want to be exposed. As already mentioned, this is what Truhoma is working on and will continue to. Charities can only be effective if they operate solely with the purpose to help others, if they keep optimizing their work and costs, and, of course, if they are completely honest and transparent. I think the role of charities must and will change profoundly before long. I believe that the centerstage will be taken by small organizations that will operate at a local or regional level, those which people will prefer to support; just as we prefer to buy and eat locally, we will also donate locally. I believe that we must first help locally, and if we can, globally as well. These organizations will have two key roles: to identify the main issues in their surroundings (i.e., what kind of help is needed), and to identify those who really need help. I also imagine that such local-regional charities will be a great support to various global initiatives and projects, such as Truhoma.How do Truhoma’s values reflect in the name of the organization?Truhoma was created from the first letters of its slogan True and Honest Mankind. This is my life philosophy as well. If you are not honest to and sincere with yourself, you will never reach your pure potential. When you are like that to yourself and to others, this is a recipe for a better world. Truhoma is now also my life project, combining innovative technologies and philanthropy, two industries that I used to pursue and study separately. Philanthropy must become fully transparent, traceable and effective, with 100 percent of donations reaching those for whom they are intended. With the Truhoma project, we are disrupting, digitalizing and transforming philanthropy as we know it. Slowly, step by step.What are the Truhoma standards you are committed to?The first one is most definitely transparency, as the donation data is permanently stored and accessible to everyone. The entire donation process is traceable, and all donee personal data is anonymized. Our system enables the tracking of the financial and material assets from source (donor) to destination (help recipient) through all relevant intermediate entities, projects or steps. We believe in direct charity – without intermediaries. The donees are also carefully verified to prevent abuse on the other side of the donation process. We develop the Truhoma processes and applications in a way that enables geographic scalability. Philanthropic activities must be accessible in wider geographic areas and use solutions that do not require their recipients to travel long distances or wait for help for long periods of time. All Truhoma software products and services are completely free of charge for all stakeholders. There are no fees, surcharges or hidden costs for any of our philanthropic platforms or tools used for detection, tracking or transparency.There are many charities around the world and they are diverse – from helping single-parent families to helping animals without a home. What ethical standards should be followed by every charity and how can they be achieved?The basis is definitely to stand together. I would highlight truth, honesty, transparency, compassion, respect, unity and love. As well as an awareness that each of us can easily find themselves in an extremely dire situation and that it is our human duty to always listen to, respect and help one another. If people can sense these values in an organization, they automatically connect with it and simply want to be a part of it. This happened to us at Ana’s Little Star, where we created a real movement from these basic human values.How can people in need apply for help through the platform?First, register an account and confirm your email address and phone number. In the next step, we ask you for some information about you and your household. You must provide a photo of your identity document, some information about your income and household members, the reasons why you need help, and proof of your circumstances. Your personal data will only be accessible to the data verifier. We will verify your identity and eligibility for assistance within 48 hours. The platform allows you to apply for care packages, which contain food and hygiene products. After your help application has been published, donors can contribute to the purchase of your care package(s). Your application will be closed if you receive the total funds for all packages or if you close the application manually. The funded packages are purchased and delivered to your home address. You can ask for help again after 31 days, but only twice a year. The value amounts of the packages are limited due to the current tax legislation.How can charities make project applications on Truhoma?Truhoma offers charities solutions for effective cost reduction and increased efficiency. An organization representative opens an account and enters personal and organization data. Truhoma’s local organization sends the registered organization a partnership agreement, which you sign and send back. Then, you make a list of the individuals and families in need who can not register on the Truhoma Platform on their own because they do not have the appropriate knowledge, devices or internet access. You then submit a project for helping a number of people in need; select one of the care packages available. The value amounts of the packages are limited due to the current tax legislation. Open the project on your profile, describe it and select the type and quantity of the care packages. Once a project is published, donors can see it in the Donation Explorer tool and donate for one package or more. When all the funds are raised or the project is closed, the funded packages are delivered directly to the beneficiaries on your list.How can donors help and donate through Truhoma?Before donating, you can view individual or family requests and charity projects in the Donation Explorer tool; if you wish, you can contribute for one or more care packages. The value amounts of the packages are limited due to the current tax legislation. The packages contain food and hygiene products. You can either donate for more than package to help multiple families and/or projects simultaneously or make separate donations. At the checkout, you can decide whether to pay for the donation by credit card, bank transfer or cryptocurrency payment. You can make the payment as a guest donor or create your own donor account. If you need a donation certificate, please provide your name and address when registering. Your donations are trackable; you can track them via your account or with the Donation Tracker tool – through a unique donation number that you receive by email or phone. The Truhoma Platform is a web application where records are kept with the use of blockchain technology. Each donation and its use are fully traceable and transparent.In what other ways can we join forces to help even more people in need?Every donor helps to the best of their ability and always in situations when they feel that they can fully trust that their help will get to those it was intended for.
